Abstract

This paper review the latest book by Laura Graciela Rodríguez. In it, the author explains the progressive incorporation of women into secundary education institutions (normal schools, commercial and vocational schools; national colleges and girls' high schools) as both students and teachers. The main argument is that the national government, through its officials, encouraged the majority of women to pursue teacher training and those from more disadvantaged backgrounds to enroll in vocational schools.
